Personal Information
Gregory Benedict Lush was born 16 January 1963 in Mountain View, California
among the orchards of the lush California Valley. He attended Palo Alto High
School in Palo Alto, California and graduated in 1981. As the orchards were
being replaced by fields of semiconductor plants, Mr. Lush escaped east to
bless the University of Notre Dame with his presence. "Go to Indiana," they
said; "See the world," they said.
After Graduating as a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in May
1985, Mr. Lush decided to continue pursue his dual degree in EE and in
Hoosierism by attending Purdue University to study semiconductors and the
malleability of man. Mr. Lush attained the degree of Masters of Science in
Electrical Engineering at Purdue University in December 1987 while
discovering that Hoosierism is the Belief in Being Kind to Fellow Man.
Mr. Lush was doctored in 1992 after compiling a dissertation on
recombination in n-type GaAs -- a subject of great import that no one speaks
of it.
Dr. Lush has enjoyed teaching at UTEP since September 1993 (which
fortuitously coincides with his arrival here)
Future Plans include writing a children's book and fixing the World, while
occasionally dabbling in electrical engineering before retiring (early!) to
write a cookbook (his memoirs).
